Recitals
The Flute Studio Recitals are an ongoing project initiated and developed by Russell Gillespie in 2008; the overall aim being to generate confidence and experience along with encouraging positive mental and physical stamina. As a result Students are enabled to focus on the positive aspects of public performance, through being given the opportunity to play before an invited audience on a regular basis.
This may either involve performing a complete Recital as part preparation for an examination and /or diploma, or sharing a joint Recital with fellow colleagues.
Students are encouraged to avoid being distracted by any inevitable slips or errors, and to ultimately benefit from the experience gained through playing a Recital well, to the best of their ability.
It is through regular and repeated opportunities to appear in public that stage fright and preliminary nervousness will diminish, so enhancing confidence and creating a better and improved individual performance on each occasion.
