La Flûte Harmonique

In the autumn of 2009 the LFH Junior Flute Choir to La Flūte Harmonique was formed under the leadership and direction of Ali Mercer.

The Choir has been specifically created to enable and encourage young flautists, (age 8+) Grade 3 and above who wish to have the opportunity to develop their overall playing in a small flute ensemble. There are no auditions and the group is totally non competitive. Everyone works at their own pace within a supportive, positive and relaxed environment. Members are encouraged to work as a team.

Each Year the LFH Junior Flute Choir has the opportunity to participate in the Annual concert of La Flūte Harmonique.

Rehearsals These are held on the FOURTH FRIDAY of each month from 7. 00pm to 8. 30pm at: St Mary the Virgin Church Chester Road ( A534 ) Acton Nantwich Cheshire CW5 8LG All requests and applications are given due consideration, but please bear in mind that there may be a waiting list. ALI MERCER ~ BIOGRAPHY Ali Mercer was born in England. In 1999 she and her family moved to South Africa for a period of five years where she studied the flute with Bridget Stroebel, Principal Piccolo player and 2nd Flautist, Cape Philharmonic Orchestra, and Eleanor Mullins. She has played in various locations throughout Southern Africa including the Namibian Desert! On returning to this country in 2004, she established a flute and recorder teaching practice for amateur musicians, with a particular emphasis and interest in helping complete beginners, especially children. She is currently studying the flute with Russell Gillespie. She is the Business Administrator and also an active member of "La Flute Harmonique" for which she has arranged several compositions since its inception in 2004.
